Cooking Up a Cure Benefit

Cooking Up a Cure, culinary all-star dining event, will be chaired for the third time by Cleetus Friedman, owner of City Provisions. Chef Cleetus Friedman is here with us to give us a sneak peak of what he will be cooking up for the event.

Top chefs from Chicago to participate in the third annual "Cooking Up a Cure" for Scleroderma

Chicago's top chefs are teaming up to for a delicious event to support the Chicago area chapter of the Scleroderma Foundation and promote continued research into a cure for the disease. Cooking Up a Cure, culinary all-star dining event, will be chaired for the third time by Cleetus Friedman, owner of City Provisions, and will be held at Salvage One, a renowned architectural antique museum and showroom located at 1840 W. Hubbard St, Chicago. The event will be hosted by Steve Dolinsky, one of the leading food broadcasters in the U.S. who has won 12 James Beard Awards for his TV and radio work.

"Chicago is known for its amazing food and I can't think of a better way to benefit the Scleroderma Foundation than by bringing some of the best chefs in the area together," says Cleetus Friedman, owner of City Provisions and chair of the Cooking Up a Cure benefit. "This cause holds a special place in my heart because my father passed away from Scleroderma. It seemed natural to take my passion for food and help make a difference for a cause that means so much to me."

The event will feature over 20 Chicago restaurants and a collection of top mixologists including City Provisions, David Burke's Primehouse, SmallBar, The Signature Room, Koval Distillery, Uncommon Ground, Province, Viaggios, Carnivale, Hot Chocolate and more! The night will consist of a silent and live auction and a generous sampling of food and drinks. All proceeds from the Cooking Up a Cure event will support ongoing research and funding for scleroderma.

The event provides guests with a great way to sample some of the best food in Chicago and view the hidden treasures at Salvage One all while supporting a worthwhile cause. Special event sponsorship levels range from $1,500 to $20,000 while individual tickets are $125. The proceeds raised from the event will be used to further the Scleroderma Foundation's core mission of education, support and research across the U.S. for scleroderma patients.

About Scleroderma
Scleroderma is considered an auto-immune disease that varies widely across persons and can be life threatening. This disease causes thickening and tightening of skin, and in severe cases, also hardens internal organs. Scleroderma means "hard skin" in Latin.
