It's been more than three years since then-Senator Barack Obama held a rally in Springfield to announce Joe Biden as his running mate.

Springfield says no one ever paid the bill.

Thousands turned out to witness the event in 2008. The cost of security reached $68,000. The city says it has received $13,000.

The city of Chicago has been paid $1.7 million for hosting President Obama's rally on Election Night.
