Christian T. Jensen, of Waukegan, was arrested after someone saw news coverage with surveillance photos of the pickup and recognized it, according to a Waukegan police news release. The person called police and the truck and Jensen were found.
Police say the victim, Pilar Ponce, was walking near the corner of Grand and Pine in Waukegan Thursday night when a pickup struck her and kept going. Ponce was pronounced dead at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
Jensen is scheduled to appear in bond court Sunday.
