The Chicago Park District, along with Bears Care, the Pritzker family and Allstate Insurance joined Saturday in opening three athletic fields.

All three of the athletic fields have artificial turf and are in underserved areas.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel helped cut a ribbon to open Teach for America Field at Cornell Square Park on the South Side.

On the Near Northwest Side, enthusiastic young soccer players almost mobbed the mayor. He was there to open Allstate Field in Humboldt Park.

A third field opened in Jackson Park, on the South Side.
