Danielle Andrews says she was shopping at the Macy's on State earlier this month when a man grabbed her cell phone.
Andrews says the incident happened near Macy's security office and no one came to her aid.
She says she chased the man through the store, but he got away.
"I am very aware that these things can happen on the streets, or like I said, on the el or buses, but as far as being in a store - especially Macy's - you don't think you have to be as on guard," said Andrews.
Macy's released a statement saying their top priority is to create a safe environment for their customers and associates
Anyone involved in an incident is urged to report it to store management.
