Some doctors are now changing their recommendations for young people who should receive regular HIV testing.

The American Academy of Pediatrics is now urging all teens in larger communities between the ages of 16 and 18 to get routine screenings.

That applies to teens living in an area where more than one in 1,000 have the sexually transmitted infection.

The group also advises any youths being tested for other sexually transmitted diseases to be screened for HIV.
