Metra says it will operate normal service on the Milwaukee West Line for the Friday evening commute after Thursday's fiery freight train derailment. Trains were operating on a single track through the crash scene Friday morning.
Metra says to expect 15-to-25 minute delays as that cleanup continues.
Early Thursday morning a Canadian National train derailed between Elgin and Bartlett, where the freight tracks cross Metra's Milwaukee West Line.
Twenty-two cars piled on top of each other. Three cars caught fire, but no one was hurt.
