It happened around 8 p.m. Monday night in Streator, near Illinois 18 and East 14th Road in LaSalle County.
The impact caused the truck to burst into flames. The car was split in half.
The driver of the car, 21-year-old Jennifer Taylor of Streator, died. She was a mother, and there was a baby seat in the car, but police confirm the child was not in the car during the accident.
The driver of the utility truck was injured and taken to a hospital for treatment.
Witnesses say Taylor's car ran off the edge of the road, she overcorrected, and crashed into the truck.
