ALS is a disease of the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement. Our colleague ABC7 anchor John Drury lost his battle with the illness in 2007. Since then, ABC7station has organized a golf outing in his memory with proceeds benefiting the foundation.
