Study: Coffee might lower risk of endometrial cancer in women

November 22, 2011

According to a study in Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention, women who consume four or more cups of caffeinated coffee per day appear to lower their risk by 25 percent.

Drinking fewer than four cups a day did not appear to offer any preventative benefit nor did drinking tea.

This is part of the largest study to date to explore the impact of coffee and tea on the risk of endometrial cancer.

Though this study does not prove cause and effect, experts say this observation has been suggested previously and there's strong reason to believe this association is real.
