Prosecutors said Lawson terrorized a homeowner and his family at gunpoint after forcing his way into the house because he and another man mistakenly believed drugs and money were stashed in the house.
Lawson had two previous felony convictions before this incident. His accomplice was sentenced to 19 years in prison after pleading guilty.
