A church on Chicago's South Side is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrests of two men who attacked a priest.

The incident happened early Tuesday morning in the rectory of St. Margaret of Scotland Church.

Eighty-year-old pastor emeritus Daniel Malette woke up and found two men standing over him. They demanded money. He refused and was beaten with his cane.

Malette suffered broken ribs and bruises.

The men got away with several hundred dollars.

The church is upgrading security.

St. Sabina Catholic Church is putting up the $5,000 reward.
