Researchers in Louisiana have developed a new toothpaste that's coming to store shelves this week.

NOLA.com says the researchers discovered that an extract of cocoa can strengthen and harden tooth enamel.

It's now being used in the new product called Theodent. The new toothpaste contains no fluoride.

Instead, it uses a blend of cocoa extract and other minerals. Developers say the toothpaste offers an alternative to people who worry about consuming fluoride.
