Nearly 3,000 people lined up in the bitter cold on Chicago's South Side for a chance at 300 new jobs at Ford Motor Company.

They waited for doors to open just after 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning for a job fair held at Bethlehem Church at 92nd and S. Cottage Grove.

Some job seekers had been in line since midnight.

Ford Motor Company reps interviewed candidates and accepted 1,000 resumes.

Today's job fair was sponsored by State Representative Marlow Colvin of the 33rd District.
