Thousands of early risers headed up the stairs of one of the city's iconic skyscrapers Sunday morning.

It was the 15th-annual "Hustle Up the Hancock." About 4,000 runners took part.

The fastest runners finished the 94-story climb in about nine minutes.

Their participation helped raise more than $1 million to fight lung disease.

The climb is hosted by Respiratory Health Association of Metropolitan Chicago, which supports research for lung cancer, asthma, and other respiratory problems.
