Chicago Police Chief: Hit on Blackhawks' Hossa 'borderline criminal conduct'

Chicago's police superintendent says there will not be any police involvement in the brutal hit put on the Blackhawks star Marian Hossa during a playoff game earlier this week.

Garry McCarthy was at the game Tuesday night when the Phoenix Coyotes' Raffi Torres leveled Hossa.

McCarthy told The Chicago Sun-Times that the hit was "borderline criminal conduct."

Friday, McCarthy said there will not be any criminal charges.

"Let me say this," McCarthy said, "I'm interested in reducing violence in the streets. Reducing violence on the ice is up to somebody else."
