Coyote warning issued after Aurora man attacked

May 8, 2012 (AURORA, Ill.)

The city sent hundreds of fliers to residents on Aurora's Near West Side after they determined the animal that attacked was likely a coyote.

The man was not seriously hurt in the attack, which happened late in April. The animal ran off reportedly, and city employees couldn't find it.

Coyote attacks on humans are extremely rare, and officials say this is the first report of such an attack in Aurora.
