A bald eagle soared over the Friendly Confines before the start of the Cubs-Padres game Monday.

The eagle, named Challenger, took flight around the ballpark during the national anthem.

Challenger is the only bald eagle in the U.S. that's trained to free fly in major league sports stadiums.

The 24-year-old bird was in town Monday on behalf of the American Eagle Foundation.

Challenger appeared at Wrigley Field during last year's Memorial Day Cubs game.
