Metra officials say Train 335, heading north, struck the person late Tuesday afternoon.
The condition of the pedestrian is not known.
By 6:30 p.m. Metra trains were moving very slowly through that area using only one set of tracks. That resulted in significant delays for both inbound and outbound trains.
