Chicago police say they have recovered assault weapons, heroin, and counterfeit cash in a raid on the Southeast Side.

Police say they had gotten information on a gang member storing contraband and executed search warrants at two homes in the 7500-block of South Chappel Avenue.

There, officers found loaded, high-powered rifles and pistols, ammunition and heroin with a street value of almost $4,000.
