A west suburban Yorkville man has been charged after an early Sunday collision between a pony and an all-terrain vehicle.

Around 3 a.m. Sunday, Kendall County sheriff's deputies responded to a home in the 11500-block of Brisbin Road in Yorkville. Authorities say Quintin P Wissmiller, 33, was injured.

Police say Wissmiller was driving a Polaris Ranger ATV south on Brisbin Road near Helmar Road when he struck a Shetland pony that was in the roadway. Police say Wissmiller was intoxicated and driving with a revoked driver's license.

Wissmiller was taken to Morris Hospital in Morris, Ill., by paramedics from Bristol Kendall Fire District. He was charged with DUI and driving without a license.

The pony was put down due to a back injury suffered from the crash.
