Bloomberg says the downsized iPad would probably sell for half the current price, matching the competitors.
Industry analysts say companies that supply components and assemble products have been set up. And it's now only a matter of Apple getting production up and running.
It's been rumored that an iPad 'Mini' could go on sale sometime next year and would be priced at $299.
Apple hasn't confirmed any of the reports.
