Mayor requests report on response to heat

July 8, 2012 (CHICAGO)

OEMC spokesperon Delores Robinson said the mayor has been in touch with Commissioner Gary Schenkel every day since the heat advisory went into effect.

He is requesting the report be complete in 60 days. It would be similar to what was done as a result of the Febuary 2011 blizzard. They say the public has done a really good job, but they want to take a look at what happened and review it.

"There are always things we can learn from and that's what we expect do with this report, so we are prepared," Robinson said in a statement. "Extremes are the new norm and we need to improve our responses for weather."
