We are celebrating National Ice Cream Month. And if you are like many others, ice cream may be your downfall. But you can still indulge in your favorite treat while watching your waistline with some lower calorie and lower fat options to choose from. Registered Dietitian Jenny Maloney from the Galter LifeCenter is here with some delicious ideas.


1. Edy's Slow Churned Butter Pecan Ice Cream- ½ cup equals 120 calories and 4 g fat; Edy's regular butter pecan ice cream- ½ cup equals 160 calories and 9 g fat
2. Stonyfield minty chocolate chip low fat frozen yogurt- ½ cup equals 140 calories and 3 g fat
3. Whole Fruit Raspberry sorbet- ½ cup equals 120 calories and 0 g fat
4. Julie's petite ice cream sandwich- 100 calories and 5 g fat; Klondike ice cream sandwich equals 260 calories and 11 g fat
5. Soy Delicious Almond Milk Vanilla Ice Cream- ½ cup equals 130 calories and 4.5 g fat
