Cranberry consumption linked to UTI prevention

Researchers have not always been sure whether they might work, or how they might work, but newer evidence suggests certain compounds in cranberries might prevent bacteria from attaching to tissue in the urinary tract, thereby warding off trouble.

The latest analysis is in the "Archives of Internal Medicine". It shows that for women with a history of multiple infections the risk of UTIs was reduced by 47 percent while on cranberry products.
