Espinosa returned home from Japan on June 29. Before that, Espinosa served in Afghanistan.
After the welcome, the Marine corporal was escorted to Cicero's Town Hall where people honored him for his service.
"When the times get rough, you think about family and friends back home," said Espinosa.
The Town of Cicero also presented the Marine with a certificate for his bravery and service.
