Two people who live in a home in west suburban Berwyn where dozens of animals were rescued are facing charges.

Eric Jandt and Photini Varkonyi are now charged with misdemeanor obstructing justice and endangering the life of a child.

A 17-year-old girl who lived there is now in the custody of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.

On Monday, more than three dozen cats and three dogs were rescued from the house after neighbors complained of a foul smell. Twenty more were trapped and removed the next day.
