The ATM is outside the BMO Harris Bank at Webster and Elston on the Near Northwest Side.
The machine had been pulled from its foundation and was left lying on its side near a U-Haul truck in one of the bank's drive-through lanes.
The truck had also been stolen and its engine was running when police arrived.
It is not clear if any cash was taken.
