Colorectal cancer cases rise in young adults

At this weekend's Colon Cancer Alliance Convention in Baltimore, research oncologists called for more age-specific research to understand the changing pattern of the disease.

The American Cancer Society confirms colorectal cancer rates for patients 18-49 years old increased by more than 2 percent between 1998 and 2007.

That is despite an overall drop of nearly three percent in cases across all age groups 18 and older.
