Study: Car crashes are the number 1 killer of children in the U.S.

The study finds increased danger for young passengers because they are not properly secured.

The most common safety lapses include: Children not kept in rear facing seats after age one, few children in a booster seat after age seven, and many over age six, are allowed to ride in the front seat.
