Indiana school kids encouraged to curse in class

August 8, 2012

"Everyone was nervous about it and uncomfortable about it, to write it in front of an adult, especially a teacher," said 7th grade student Viazell Gaither.

Teachers at the middle school in Indianapolis asked the students to write down the curse words on paper and the classroom board.

Next, they said the words out loud and explained why they are offensive.

The teachers say it is a way to teach students what not to say.

School officials are standing by the controversial lesson plan, saying it has cut down on kids using swear words in the school.
