Leyden HS students get free laptops

August 14, 2012 (CHICAGO)

On Tuesday, Leyden High School District 212 in Franklin Park handed out laptops that the 3,500 students can take home. East Leyden High School Principal Jason Markey said the district worked with Google.

"That's something that we feel strongly about -- that every student has the same access. So for a little over $100 per year over four years, we were able to give that type of access," Markey said.

"Some of my friends, they don't have computers or access to the internet. Now they can go to McDonalds," Tim Fuentes, 17, said.
