A Chicago police officer pleaded guilty Friday to stealing more than $5,000 in cash that he thought belonged to a drug dealer.

The money was really part of an undercover sting set up by the FBI and the police department's Internal Affairs division.

In a plea deal, Officer Kallatt Mohammed admitted he took protection money from drug dealers at the Ida B. Wells public housing complex. He's been stripped of his police powers and suspended without pay.
