An autopsy was scheduled for Sunday after a 2-week-old baby died in the Englewood neighborhood. Officials say Lovely Thompson of the 6400-block of South Peoria was found unresponsive in bed next to her mother. The state is investigating allegations of neglect.
In a separate case, the medical examiner has ruled the death of a 3-week-old baby inside a Bridgeport home a homicide. Investigators say Emonie Beasley-Brown of the 3900-block of South Wells died of suffocation last week.
No one was charged Sunday.
