Mayor Emanuel, Gov. Quinn, Dick Durbin to speak at DNC

Democratic National Convention organizers hosted an open house for supporters Friday morning at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte.

The convention kicks off on Tuesday, with nearly 6,000 delegates from across the country attending.

President Barack Obama gives his acceptance speech at Bank of America Stadium on Thursday.

Friday, we learned who is on the convention speaker list from Illinois:

That includes Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Tammy Duckworth, who is running for congress in the 8th District, Governor Pat Quinn, and Senator Dick Durbin.

ABC7's political reporter Charles Thomas and anchor Alan Krashesky will be in Charlotte for the convention.
