Homes selling more quickly in 2012

US homes are selling at a faster pace when compared to 2011, according to the National Association of Realtors.

The association says the trend reflects more homebuyer demand and fewer bank-owned homes available for sale.

The average time a previously occupied home was listed for sale shrank in July to 69 days. That's down from 98 days in the same month last year, according to the association.
