Illinois anti-gambling groups urge lawmakers not to override Quinn veto

Members of Common Cause, Illinois Campaign for Reform and others say an increase in supply without an increase in demand would only harm the existing casinos and other gambling outlets, and they think an expansion would lead to more gambling addiction.

Last month, Quinn vetoed a measure that would have added five new casinos, and it would have permitted slot machines at race tracks.
