Chicago Teachers Union President Karen Lewis told reporters Wednesday evening that progress had been made on some issues but they're going backwards on others.

Lewis said union and school officials were meeting face-to-face contrary to what the board had told ABC7 earlier.

Teachers are in day three of a strike over a contract dispute with hundreds of thousands of students out of the classroom. Two main issues being negotiated are teacher evaluation and recall.
