Smokers sleep less, German study reports

September 14, 2012

The German study reported in the journal Addiction Biology reveals the results of a questionnaire of more than 2,000 people.

Of the nearly the 1,100 smokers in the survey, 17 percent reported fewer than six hours of sleep each night, and more than a quarter reported disturbed sleep quality.

Researchers believe that the stimulating effects of nicotine may be to blame.
