Like mother, like daughter. A study in the "Canadian Medical Association" journal shows women who were born premature may need to watch for complications in their own pregnancies.

The risk almost doubled for mothers born before 32 weeks compared to full-term mothers. Those complications include, gestational hypertension and gestational diabetes and eclampsia and pre-eclampsia.

Due to improvements in medical care, many more premature babies are surviving into adulthood and having their own babies.

Authors say caregivers really need to take an expectant mom's pre-term birth into account when deciding on proper treatment.
