Emanuel to replace city ethics board members

October 3, 2012 (CHICAGO)

The mayor says his administration has fought for ethics reform since his first day in office.

Emanuel also announced Wednesday that he is appointing a new ethics board.

"I wanted to start with a new energy, a new commitment by a totally new board, all of them, with the type of professionalism and commitment to raising the ethical standards, conduct and oversight in city government," said Mayor Emanuel.

Among people getting whistleblower protection are those who believe that unethical behavior lead to them not getting a city job, a permit or city service.
