Does your birthday play a role in celiac disease development?

Celiac disease is triggered by the gluten found in wheat, barley and rye.

Expert say babies usually begin eating foods containing gluten around 6 months of age so those born in the warmer months would be exposed to gluten in the winter when infections such as cold and flu are more common. Experts are now looking into whether viral infections may play a role in the autoimmune response to gluten.
