Juan Rivera, who served 20 years in prison for the 1992 murder of 11-year-old Holly Staker before DNA proved his innocence, filed a wrongful conviction lawsuit.

Rivera is suing the Lake County sheriff's department and state's attorney. He says officials forced him to make a false confession and deprived him of his constitutional rights.

The Lake County Sheriff's Department says it cannot comment on pending litigation.
