The 45-feet tall tree welcomes visitors to the Walnut Room.
For the first time, the tree is decorated with 42 LED star ornaments.
Earlier, the holiday windows display opened to the public.
The store says this year's display emphasizes the commitment of both Marshall Field's and Macy's to continuing those traditions today.
