The congressman was re-elected to the 2nd Congressional District while on medical leave. Jackson is being treated at May Clinic for bipolar disorder.

I continue to feel better every day and look forward to serving you.
Jackson easily won re-election to his ninth full term on Tuesday. He first won the race in 1995.
The son of the civil rights leader was widely expected to win even though he hasn't appeared publicly in months.
The Democrat went on medical leave in June and has released few details about his treatment for bipolar disorder.
The election comes amid a House Ethics Committee investigation into links to imprisoned former Gov. Rod Blagojevich.
