The search for Stacy Peterson in Hammel Woods Forest Preserve has concluded, the FBI and Illinois State Police said Friday afternoon.

Nothing was found during the week-long search in suburban Shorewood, officials said.

Stacy Peterson, the fourth wife of Drew Peterson, has been missing since October 2007. Drew Peterson was convicted for the murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio, in September.

The search was not the result of a new lead but part of the ongoing investigation into the Peterson case, law enforcement officials confirmed.

"The Illinois State Police's top priority is to preserve the integrity of an investigation and any comments or details released during the investigative process could potentially compromise our efforts," Commander Michael Cooke said in a press release.

The investigation into Peterson's disappearance will continue, officials said.
