Customers are suing, claiming the pizza chain send out a half-million unwanted spam texts.
The lawsuit claims the messages offered deals. But some customers said they got more than a dozen of them in a row in the middle of the night.
The plaintiffs could get up to $1,500 per text if the jury rules that Papa John's broke the law.
The company's corporate office says they are not involved because the lawsuit involves a small number of their franchisees.
