West Chicago teachers hold vigil after school board meeting

December 6, 2012 (WEST CHICAGO, Ill.)

Their move comes three days after District 33 declared an impasse in contract talks.

After 14 months the two sides still have no deal on salaries, retirement plans or insurance benefits. The march took place after a school board meeting attended by teachers.

Both sides say they're open to more discussion and committed to reaching an agreement.

Parents that ABC7 News spoke to are also optimistic that a deal will be reached.
