CTA riders speak out on proposed route cuts, fare hikes

December 10, 2012 (CHICAGO)

Many in attendance called on the CTA to save the #11 Lincoln/Sedgwick route.

Some called the route their "lifeline."

Alderman Ameya Pawar from the 47th ward was present.

"Anytime there are cuts to bus lines, there's almost always a disproportionate impact to seniors, people living on fixed incomes, people who have a lower income," said Pawar.

Other riders said they opposed the proposed price increases for 30-day passes, and passes for seniors.
