Poll: Most Americans favor NRA

A new poll finds most Americans have a favorable opinion of the National Rifle Association.

But many of those polled say the NRA doesn't always reflect their views.

The survey found that more than 50 percent of Americans view the NRA favorable, but nearly 40 percent did not.

Also, data shows more than 60 percent say the NRA's policies reflect their own views.

Pollsters say the NRA's greatest support came in 2005, when 60 percent of Americans said they approve of the group.
